Venus Spirits

At The Lexington House, we put as much care into our cocktails as we put into our food menu. And just as ingredients are important to our dishes, they are equally important to our cocktails. That is one of the reasons that we are proud to use Venus Spirits. Venus produces award winning, organic spirits that are not only produced in-line with our personal standards, but are extraordinary in taste (and we know from personal experience).

What is now Venus Spirits began with a home-brew over 20 years ago. Founder Sean Venus was inspired by watching a high school physics teacher brew beer. As he explains "Watching the fermentation transform a sweet liquid into something forbidden (for a teenager) was exciting.” From there he went to college in Oregon, where he developed a love of craft beer and eventually became an assistant brewer himself. But his love for spirits did not end with beer, Venus was soon inspired to begin distilling small batch organic spirits. And so Venus Spirits was born.

Located in Santa Cruz, California and founded by Sean Venus, Venus Spirits is currently producing organic small-batch whiskey, gin, aquavit and blue agave spirits. They build bold flavors that start with organic and locally sourced ingredients. Each batch is distilled in their hand pounded Alembic Still. A little bit of ocean air, a touch of precision and some time result in extraordinary hand crafted spirits.
